The lodge operates exclusively within this period. No guests are received before 11 November under any circumstances.

01 · Location and access

Getting to the Lodge

  • Where is Uman Lodge and how does it differ from other Chilean destinations?

Uman Lodge is located in Futaleufú, in the northern part of Chilean Patagonia (Los Lagos Region). It's worth clarifying that geographically this is a completely different destination, much further north than Torres del Paine.

  • How do you get to the Lodge from Chile and from Argentina?

From Chile: You can travel via Puerto Montt or Chaitén along Route 7 (the Carretera Austral), connecting with Route 231. You can also fly to Puerto Montt and take a transfer to Chaitén, or a direct flight to the Futaleufú airfield.

From Argentina: The most direct overland access is through the border crossings near the cities of Esquel or Bariloche, passing first through the town of Trevelin.

  • Do I need a 4x4 vehicle to get there?

The access road to the lodge is gravel with some steep sections. A 4x4 vehicle is ideally recommended. It isn't strictly required, but if you drive up in a regular car, do so with extreme caution.

02 · Rooms

Categories and accommodation

  • What room categories do you offer?

There are two room types: Premium Suite (15 rooms) and Master Suite (a single one, with a private jacuzzi integrated into the room, for up to 2 people) — 16 suites in total.

The Family Suite is not a separate type: it is two adjoining Premium Suites booked together, for up to 5 guests.

  • How are the beds arranged in the Family Suite, and how are the rooms connected?

The Family Suite accommodates 5 people and has two bedrooms: a main double and a triple room with three single beds.

Both bedrooms are connected by a private outdoor corridor; there is no internal connecting door between the rooms.

  • What amenities and facilities do the rooms have?

All rooms have full central heating and constant hot water.

Please note there are no electric kettles inside the rooms, but they are available to guests throughout the lodge's common areas.

03 · Rates, meal plans and dining

What your stay includes

  • What does the "Full Experience" plan include?

    The Full Experience program includes:

Accommodation, buffet breakfast, à la carte lunch or the option of a lunch box for excursions, and a 3-course dinner (drinks not included).

It also grants full access to the Health Club (spa, pool, wifi), parking and one excursion per day per person, chosen from the selected activities menu.

  • Which excursions are pre-approved and included in the Full Experience?

The activities available per day (for both adults and children) are:

Bridge to Bridge rafting · family floats · kayak outings · trekking in the Futaleufú Reserve · the Futaleufú Highlights tour · Between-Lakes horseback rides · canopy.

Lunch on these days is included in the activity's overall rate.

  • What dining options are there for guests without full board?

Additional meal plans can be added per night per person (drinks not included):

Half board · USD 85 per night.
Full board · USD 140 per night.
Meals consist of a 3-course gourmet menu of your choice.

For children under 12, we offer a children's menu at USD 40 per night, with classics such as chicken fingers, pasta or breaded cutlet with fries.

  • Does the restaurant cater to dietary restrictions or coeliac guests?

Yes. Both the main restaurant and room service follow strict kitchen protocols to offer adapted, coeliac-safe dishes, as well as other special diets.

04 · Payment methods and financial policies

How to pay

  • Which payment methods does the Lodge accept?

Booking payments are processed with credit or debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Amex) through the official booking engine.

Base rates are quoted in USD. Chilean residents have the option to pay in CLP.

  • Can I pay in cash, or are there cash discounts?

Cash is not accepted at the lodge, for reasons of security, control and operational efficiency.

All extra charges and balances are settled by credit or debit card. As a result, there are no cash-payment discounts.

  • Can I pay in instalments?

The lodge does not offer financing or instalment plans directly. All charges are processed as a single payment.

We suggest checking with your issuing bank about the financing options available on your card.

  • How does the VAT exemption for foreign tourists work?

Foreign tourists who pay in US dollars (USD) using a credit or debit card not issued in Chile are fully exempt from the 19% VAT, in accordance with local legislation.

To claim the exemption you must present the entry ticket issued by the PDI (Chilean investigative police) at immigration on arrival. Keep it with your passport.

Presenting a credit card at reception as a guarantee at check-in is mandatory.

05 · Spa, services and outside guests

Spa, luggage, fishing and employment

  • What does the Spa / Health Club include?

We have a first-class Health Club with a heated indoor pool, an outdoor pool and outdoor jacuzzi, a massage room, sauna and hammam, with a spectacular panoramic view of Patagonian nature.

The treatments and massage menu is available on the Spa page.

  • Can non-guests visit the lodge?

Yes. Access to the restaurant, terraces and spa services is open to the general public.

This is always subject to availability and requires a mandatory advance phone booking at +56 9 5663 7669.

  • Do you offer luggage storage?

Yes. The lodge has a secure space specifically for storing guests' luggage before check-in or after check-out.

  • What are the conditions for fishing excursions?

The fishing rate includes the professional guide, the required fishing permits and the boat.

Specific fishing gear (rod, reel, flies, waders, boots) is not included and is rented separately.

  • What is the official channel for job applications or sending a CV?

The only channel for receiving job applications or CVs is the email address rrhh@umanlodge.com.

Please do not contact the sales or reservations team by phone regarding employment.
